South Bay Cities Council of Governments   Traffic Alert System

Carson, El Segundo, Gardena, Hawthorne, Hermosa Beach, Inglewood, Lawndale, Lomita, Los Angeles-Harbor Area, Manhattan Beach, Palos Verdes Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes, Redondo Beach, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates, Torrance.

WHAT:
The South Bay Cities Traffic Alert System provides information on current and planned capital improvement projects and special events that may negatively impact the flow of traffic within the South Bay. Using the Internet, you can view maps showing the location of both on-going construction projects and one-time events, and find out when they. re most likely to impede traffic. TAS even helps you choose the best routes to avoid them.

HOW:
1. Once you. re at the TAS home page, you can request project information by city, route, address or intersection. Choose from the list of South Bay communities using the scroll-down menu provided. Instead, if you. re interested in traffic impacts along a particular route, at a single address or at a key intersection, use your mouse to click on the correct option and provide the information in the spaces provided.

2. Select the time period: Are you interested in projects affecting your travel today or will you be taking the same route all week or all month?

3. TAS will provide you with a map showing all of the projects in the area for the time period you requested. Impacted streets are highlighted in orange.

4. If you want more information on a particular highlighted project, click on it using your mouse. A . Project Report. will appear giving you the name of the project, its duration and a contact person.

5. Have a safe trip.
